Desire is seeking its ending.

It is in the ending of striving that we experience our natural state, which is the desireless state.
Our natural state is always on board, but it is veiled by striving for something external. The belief that our happiness is due to some effort or to some activity is the illusion.

The perspective of separation creates a separate me and an external world, as well as the belief that my fulfillment resides in the external world or in some particular phenomenal experience.
That is how we overlook our essential nature, which is effortlessly peaceful.
