    Dear Magdi,
Of all that I am aware of, Thinking is the most. Thoughts flow throughout, some for practical reasons but mostly they rehash the past or imagine a future. But whenever I am present, still, then thoughts either slow down considerably, or their presence is not bothersome.
Can we group thoughts as A) thoughts necessary to function and B) unnecessary thoughts. But no matter what, it is clear that I intimately experience thought, therefore the experience of thinking is not other than me. Yet thought has this magnetic power to create an alternate reality with ‘me’ as an entity identified with the body-mind, encounters an outside world of other people and objects. It even creates time. And it creates more thoughts about how to reduce thinking and be still. Please speak about this process of thinking and how to not fall for the resulting illusion…

    Thank you!

    Dear Ganesh
Is it possible to recognize that you are the unaffected, untouched stillness that is perceiving thought?
The reason we rehash the past is that we believe that it is necessary to do so in order to be a better person, more safe as a person and a better personal self. Many of our thoughts relate to this fictitious entity, an imaginary character we have identified with.
We even try to control our thoughts in order to feel as if we are a more spiritual person.
Of course, in the realm of human interactions, we use our intelligence in order to relate with others in a harmonious manner. But when our thoughts are channeled through the belief and feeling that we are a limited, personal entity, these thoughts are contaminated by this ignorance and reflect this virus.
Thoughts do not create an alternative ‘me-reality’. Thoughts are a creation and not a creator. The only ‘creator’ is consciousness and when consciousness chooses to play the game of duality, thoughts (which are the creation of consciousness) reflect consciousness’ choice.
The path is to investigate the belief that I am a separate mortal entity. When this investigation is thorough, thoughts ceases to reflect a falsehood.
Indeed, there is no duality between thought and thinker.
The illusion of time is useful in the phenomenal realm. Believing that I/consciousness exist in time and space is ignorance.
    Love,
    Magdi

    Dear Magdi,
It can be frustrating, this game. We say ‘Consciousness’ but it is also the one writing this, the one that feels suffering, the one asking what to do. Oh well. Keep the inquiry going I guess.

    Dear Ganesh
Tell me, who is this one writing this? Who is this one that feels suffering? Who is the one asking what to do?
Who is that? Can you take a look?
We can also take a look together.

    Love,
    Magdi

Thank you Magdi. When I look, there is no one there.
